Little Theatre Stages Goblin Gold to Standing Ovation
The Little Theatre drew a capacity crowd at the town hall last Friday with three acts of Goblin Gold a drama of a forgotten prospector returning to poor kin. Strong performances by George Reid Bernice Gorby Lottie Crosby Ursula Dehlgren Alma Farenhurst Ellen Playford Bruce Watson Bruce Haigh Gerald Bird and others accompanied by the Little Theatre orchestra under Murray Sperani impressed audiences. A new wine red stage curtain was unveiled and a post show banquet honored retiring Dauphin school board members H N Macneill and Dr H E Bewell for twenty five and twenty four years of service respectively.

Wood Sawyer Loses Thumb in Home Woodworking Accident
Fred Bawden of Dauphin lost his right thumb while sawing wood at his home on a Thursday morning. His hand was caught in a faulty pulley, pulling the thumb from the socket and straining arm tendons. He was taken to Dauphin General Hospital for treatment.

Representatives to Boys' Parliament in Winnipeg
Bob Eastman and Jack Nicholson were elected to represent the district in the annual Taxis boys parliament to be held in Winnipeg during the Christmas holidays. Eastman and Nicholson have been active in local Taxis groups for two years, with Eastman also named rugby team captain this fall. Sixty six votes were cast.

William Melnik a 37 year old immigrant from Russia died at 40 pm Monday in the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Company hospital Flin Flon after a burst ulcer required surgery. He is survived by his widow. Funeral at St Augustine Church Flin Flon Friday at 10, burial in Sifton Manitoba. Funeral directors McSorney and Smith.

Deepdale Resident Dies in Dauphin
Thomas McIntosh Thompson of Deepdale Manitoba died in Dauphin after two and a half months illness. Aged 44, born in Ontario, he worked as a grain buyer at Ochre River Dutton and Deepdale. Survived by his wife and a son, funeral at Grandview United Church today at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Jackson officiating.

Curling and Skating Club Open Season With Enthusiasm
The Dauphin Curling club launched its season with an unofficial opening that blended with a festive oyster event. 21 rinks formed, officers selected, and a schedule posted through February with a special under-21 fee. The Dauphin Skating Arena opened Dec 5 for 1934 35, drawing strong early ticket sales and a full weekly skating timetable including children and adults.
