Dauphin General Hospital installed a new boiler system on Oct 24 costing 13000 dollars. It powers heating hot water and high pressure needs with a 100 HP unit and automatic cut off at 100 PSI. Flowing Well Supply Ends Long Ochre River Search
A new flowing well was piped to the Ochre River school reservoir last Saturday around 4 pm after years of drilling and quicksand problems. The project, begun in 1948, saw multiple depths and setbacks before a 50 foot flowing well, plastic pipe, and a six to seven foot trench completed the supply to the cistern at an estimated total cost near 900 dollars.

A large audience filled the town hall for the annual winter band concert by the Dauphin boys and girls band. Under George Zradicka the 45 piece ensemble played 10 pieces including marches Christmas carols and a four part Happy Birthday arrangement. Senior members wore new navy blue uniforms while majorettes sported white wool outfits with red accents. Jim Oliphant Jr chaired the town band committee as details of sections and members are listed.
