War savings in public schools reached 483 dollars with stamp sales totaling 247.75 at McKenzie 134.91 at Smith-Jackson and 101 at Whitmore. Marie Hamelin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hamelin of St. Boniface married Flight Lieutenant E Rodney Derick elder son of Mr. and Mrs. H E Derick of Dauphin in a Tuesday ceremony at St. Viator’s rectory. Bride wore gold silk crepe with rhinestones and matching turban. Guests included immediate relatives and friends. The couple left for a brief Winnipeg honeymoon.

The Women's Musical Club hosted its annual Christmas program with students from Whitmore school grades 7 and 8. Mrs. J. M. Douglas presided as carols from many nations were sung under Mrs. W. L. Breadner’s direction. The program featured numerous carols and soloists, with two-piano arrangements by Mrs. Strickland and Mrs. Rose. The January meeting will present excerpts from Schubert at Mrs. W. K Marsh’s home.
