In Dauphin during Monday and Tuesday 1929 No 3 ration books were called for leaving over 7 000 to be picked up by Saturday August 24 at 5 pm. If not collected locally books may be obtained from another source. The Town hall hosts the dispatch with D D McDonald and W J Henderson directing a volunteer staff of 11 to 14 handling about 9 000 books.

Full Military Funerals Held for Crash Victims
Military honors were given for Sgt. Frank Lawley and LAC Henry May two Australian fliers from No. 10 S.F.T.S. at St. Pauls Anglican Church on Friday afternoon Aug 13. Padre from No. 108 F.T.S. officiated with Archdeacon Bridgett assisting. Interment followed in the air force plot at Riverside Cemetery.

Airman Crashes Car Into Garage Wall
An airman, LAC W. Peters of No 7 B&GS, attempted to steal a car in Allard's Garage last Tuesday. He backed the vehicle into a brick wall, causing extensive damage to the wall and car, and was found unconscious at the wheel before being taken into RCMP custody. Damages are estimated at 450 to 500 dollars. no injuries to Peters were reported.

Sports Picnic Highlights Ball Games and Races at Ukrainian Home Event
The Ukrainian People's Home hosted a sports picnic at the fairgrounds featuring baseball, softball, children's races and bingo to support Dauphin's war savings drive, raising 45.75 in stamps. Top baseball went to No. 10 SFTS over No. 7 B&G.S, with several close matches and a bye for Gilbert Plains. Winners in youth races and details of organizers completed the program.

E. P. Brown of Gilbert Plains reports his brother Sgt. Cecil Brown is missing after operations over Germany. The well known Dauphin resident enlisted in the RCAF in 1940 and graduated as an air gunner at Macdonald before going overseas in 1942.

Four Big Days Of Carnival Fun Start Saturday
Dauphin hosts the E J Casey Shows at Ballpark with four days of rides games and entertainment sponsored by the Dauphin Rotary Club. Activities begin Saturday at 2 p m and include kiddies day Monday afternoon from 2 to 5 p m with five cent rides. The event features Big Eli Ferris wheel and the Mickey Mouse side show among others, with Rotary volunteers selling prize chances for charity and no grounds admission charged.

Efficiency Pennant Presented to No.7 B&G.S. At Ceremony
