Death of Frank Cross Conductor on Canadian National Railway
Frank Cross longtime Canadian National Railway conductor on the Dauphin division died Monday August 22 after months of illness. Born June 16 1870 in Campbell Minnesota he moved to Dauphin in 1911 and resided there. He leaves two children Helen and John his second wife a sister Mrs J A Schumacher of Duluth and a brother in Minneapolis and another sister in California. Funeral held at 3rd Ave SW with Rev Fred C Middleton officiating and Riverside Cemetery burial. Pallbearers named E Mulligan J O Connor J Grady W MecClernon D McLean V Jackson.

At the Dominion track championships in Toronto Jimmy Ball of Dauphin won the 4 mile dash with a fast burst near the tape. Stan Glover, competing strong, finished second as Ball defeated him in a strong field from across the Exsamion region. Dauphin’s standout performance earned praise from the crowd.

Hospital expansion under way near current building
The new hospital is rapidly taking shape beside the present facility. Stanely Safrenish of Zoria was admitted Friday with a fractured jaw from a horse kick. Mrs. Joseph Fedorovitch of Fork River is treated for an eye injury from a wood strike. Jack Harritt expects discharge this week. The hospital now has 25 patients.

Garden Show Opens With Judges Edwards and Budd
The Garden Show will open Friday at 7 p.m. with Edwards judging flowers canning and honey and Mr Budd judging other divisions. A large crowd attended the B P O E organized jitney dance in the town hall to support Jim Ball's Olympic tryouts in Toronto last Saturday. About $100 was raised to finance the Dauphin entry with Dauphinolian musicians and local groups thanked for their aid and support.
