First Car of Barley Delivered to Dauphin

E A Watson delivered the first car of barley grain to Dauphin for the crop year loaded through the Northern Elevator on August 22 and shipped to Port Arthur. The barley yield was 35 bushels per acre. Thomas Meighen attends the Gay Friday and Saturday events.

Bird Specimens Secured for Riding Mountain Preserve

Representatives from the Dominion Parks Board visited Riding Mountain to secure new bird specimens and assess the area as a permanent elk and bird sanctuary. They reported the region's exceptional grazing and large elk population, with hunting and trapping banned to protect wildlife. Supervisor F. J. Smith accompanied Lavener and Lloyd on the mission.

Parachute Star Devlin Demonstrates Aerial Feats in Dauphin

Captain Devlin of New York and Brandon aviators Lieuts Casewell and Bennett visited Dauphin on Monday. Devlin, famed for parachute descents, reportedly holds the world altitude record at 21 700 feet set in Dayton last June. Crowds watched his safe drop into Lovering Park as the Homing Pigeon Fanciers form the Dauphin Racing Pigeon Association with officers listed and plans for a Sept 1 race. Insist Bryce's Bread.

Masquerade Ball at Rose and Nelles Pavillion

A Tuesday night masquerade gathered 55 couples at Rose and Nelles Pavillion, Dauphin Beach. McMurray's six piece orchestra opened dancing at 9 30 with judging by Mrs. Hawkins and S. Ogg proving a challenge. Home made costumes drew praise as guests departed after midnight. Wm. Wecks leased the Gay Theatre to Mickey Laman for several years. Isman to take over September 1.

Prize Winners at Winnipegosis Dance and Boxing Night

The event featured Lady's Fancy won by Miss L. M. Telfer Lady's Patriotic by Miss Irene Campbell Lady's Comic by Marguerite Stelck Gent's Fancy by Geo. Smith Gent's Patriotic by J. G. McEwen Gent's Comic by Frank Malcolm. All roads lead to Winnipegosis tonight for the big boxing exhibition followed by a dance with the Gay Theatre Orchestra.
