Garnet wheat graded No 2 Northern in Winnipeg. The crop averaged 15 bushels per acre with five acres planted to Reward yielding 26.5 bushels per acre.

Fire destroys barn and two valuable horses in Valley River district
A. J. Boughen reports a blaze that consumed a modern barn on Fries evening last, with two registered horses named Stalion and a mare bred on the farm. The loft contained green fodder and the fire, likely caused by spontaneous combustion, ruined the barn lean-to and water loss covered harness, feed, and equipment. insurance covers the horses.

Survived by husband three children Kathleen Daniel Isabel one sister in the United States and one sister and one brother in Ireland. Escaped Jail Suspect Recaptured After Three Years
Jack Paskowski who escaped Gilbert Plains jail in 1926 while awaiting trial for shopbreaking was recaptured Saturday by provincial officers and jailed in Dauphin. He faces new charges for escaping custody in addition to the original shopbreaking count. He had wandered the Canadian west since his escape before returning home.

CNR Ticket Agent Survives Car Crash Near Home
Douglas Kitney, a CNR ticket agent, narrowly escaped serious injury when a rear tire blew out on his Chrysler Monday morning. The car somersaulted, windshield shattered, and he was treated by Dr. Tripp at McCreary and returned to work Wednesday. The insured vehicle was towed to Dauphin for insurance adjustment at Geiler's Garage.
