Sir George Foster announced that the wheat board of control recommends an initial payment of 2.15 per bushel to farmers for No 1 northern wheat from Fort William. The government has approved the price.

St Pauls W A Fete Thrives After Rain Postponement

Vermillion Park grounds hosted the St Pauls W A fete on Monday night after rain delayed Friday’s event. The town band led a Main street procession, visitors toured Judge Bonnycastle’s residence, and tea and ice cream were served while Mr McMurray and the band entertained. Dr Walker won the pole vault and F Weldin the high jump as part of evening events.

Dauphin Furniture Co Attracts Fair Visitors

At the fair last week Dauphin Furniture Co occupied a central main building space selling carpets draperies verandah furniture ivory bedroom suites Jacobian parlor sets and gramophones. Manager FC Turland helmed sales with many orders from out of town while gravel deliveries arrive from Sturgis on the Preeceville branch unused on streets due to labor shortages. William Baylix sells a farm four miles south of town and will move from Winnipeg to Dauphin.
