Dauphin Council Sets School Levy At 36 Mills
At a Friday meeting the Dauphin town council passed by law the 36 mill levy for school purposes and a 1 percent municipal commissioner levy. Mayor Robson and six councillors attended as various petitions were read including requests for electric light extensions, old age pension, and a town hall garden show. The council also approved extending electricity north and west of the roundhouse and limited use of the town bell to emergencies, while discussing police staffing and holiday proclamations for August 19. A new cabin was added at the tourist camp and the town prepared to aid needy residents with work in exchange for meals. The council adjourned to August 21.

The Dauphin Citizens Band travelled last weekend giving broadcasts and performances in Clear Lake and Brandon. Led by Bandmaster Jack McMurray they played on the south shore at Clear Lake and later in Stanley Park Brandon before about 3000 people. The CKX broadcast carried the Brandon show despite stormy reception. The band reported a heavy welcome at both locations.

Sifton Club Concludes Rink Fund Drive With Prizes
The Sifton Young People's Club closed its skating rink fund drive with a Monday night dance at the Dauphin town hall. Fifty-five to sixty-five prizes were drawn for and awarded to winners, including a $75 watch as part of the top prize.
