Ten year old girl injured after bike hit by car

Sifton Man Drowns at Red Lake Ontario
Steve Zubrecky of Sifton drowned Saturday evening at Red Lake Ontario while learning to swim. About 15 swimmers were nearby as he allegedly cramped and sank, was pulled under twice, and did not resurface. His body was recovered and artificial respiration failed. The body was brought to Lif t. brother Mike arrived from Red Lake. Bullmore's funeral home handled arrangements.

Joe Johannesson Wins Lions Tournament at Dauphin
Joe Johannesson of the Dauphin club won the Lions Taylor trophy as individual champion at the Lions club provincial golf tournament held last Sunday at Dauphin Country Club. He starred in the Dauphin foursome which defeated teams from Winnipeg Brandon and Necepa wa, with teammates Bob Gardner Don Mitchell and Fred Kokura. More than 35 Lions club representatives from across the province attended.

The Main street hard-surfacing project from Fourth north to Fourth south is finished with paving work proceeding from Fourth south to Twelfth avenue. A two-lane boulevard with sewer and water lines is advancing, while bids totaled 12 448 dollars 81 cents. Council asks local team owners to keep horses off the surface to protect the new asphalt.
