Elks Day at Dauphin Hosts Wide Carnival Activities
A big all day event at the B P O Elks carnival featured fine weather, a full program of midway attractions, bands, races, and novelty contests. Results include Elks beating Wilson River 7 5, Minitonas defeating Beavers 3 1, and Rangers winning the final 6 11. The program also showcased football, boxing, wrestling, a balloon fight on horseback, and a dance, with a concert by the Australian National Band slated for August 16.

The cooler days quiet mosquitos as Mrs Shortreed of Grandview visits Mrs G W Rogers. Mrs Bettes vacations at the beach with Miss Chick. Billie Wallwin marked his 11th birthday with a Monday bonfire. A weiner roast delighted local youths. The Rogers camp opened last Tuesday. Lady Golfers hosted a pavilion dance and tea for Community Club members, about fifty attending. The Wright bungalow hosts Mrs McKinstry. Joe Hoskins vacationing with the Vasbinders. Beach Tennis Club danced at the pavilion. Night Hawks provided music, good attendance, and earned forty dollars. A forthcoming bonfire and dance plans are announced for next Wednesday sponsored by Beach Tennis Club.
