Drayton plays a 4-Dauphin-1 win over an all star 4-team side from Gilbert Plains Grandview and Dauphin. Drayton then edges Ochre River 7-6 in a tight contest. Crowds of 600 watch, with notable hits from Gooslan Cameron Burgeson and Breozes highlight the exhibition. Drayton to face Northern Manitoba League pick team Friday.

barley harvest prospects rise amid heat and moisture

Binders on the hum pheast cutting started earn this week and by early next week will be general. Early sown barley cutting is near finished. Though hot weather cooled bumper prospects, moisture improved grain fill with Dauphin district noted as favored. an average yield around 17 bushels per acre is expected across the district.

Smalydo Committed for Trial on Wounding Charge

Mike Smalydo is committed for trial on a reduced charge of wounding with intent after a stabbing that allegedly occurred on July 22 in Moose Bay district northeast of Lake Dauphin. Preliminary hearing set for August 1-2 before Police Magistrate Hawkins at the HEX assizes.

Assault charge verdict over toll bridge dispute at Cieg dinning Bay

Mike Terrin charged Peter Jager with assault heard by Police Magister Hawkins on Tuesday. Jager convicted and ordered to pay costs. Ratepayers of Massey River Municipality protest tolls for access to their property and seek expropriation of Terrin’s property to build a highway along the ridge.

Burrows Plans Addition to Main Street Block in 1922

Theore A Burrows intends building an addition to his block on Main Street in Spring 1922. The addition will bridge the space between the present block and the Malcolm Block. Burrows has received several proposals to construct for general stores and offices.

Oako Beach Subdivision Planned at Lake Dauphin

H E Fraser and C Bendickson have purchased the Shaw Bros property on Lake Dauphin forming the new Oako Beach subdivision. The 48 acre tract fronts the beach adjoining Canadian Northern Townsite Col property at Dauphin Beach and is two miles closer to town by the current road. Preliminary surveys will place the frontage this week. the beach features a good sandy shore and a ridge of fine oak trees, giving the name Oako Beach to the development.

Caldwell cottage sold as water projects expand

Geo H Vasbinder buys the Caldwell cottage. Bell hands over two wells to Beach Overseers and buys the well Snyder recently sunk. Private wells are being added by A H F Stelek with Bell's coaching in dynamite use. A camp may have fended off a “whiz bang” attack with no casualties. An oil fire on Bryce’s launch was doused after a smoker’s cigarette stub ignited waste. Fulton and family move to Benedickson cottage. A storm spoiled dances at Scott’s pavilion and Tennis Club events.

Boys depart Tuesday morning and Major Lanner calls a meeting Friday at 7 at Mackenzie School to finalize plans. All cadets must attend.
