Liberals to Gather in Dauphin for Delegate Conference

A mass meeting of the Liberals in the Dauphin electoral division will take place at the Municipal hall on Friday August 3 at 8 30 p m to choose delegates for the Winnipeg convention.

Baby show to feature farm plant exhibits and races

The Grain Growers Co of Winnipeg will exhibit nighting plants for farm houses still in operation. A long distance Indian runner from the Grandview reserve is expected to join foot races. Baseball teams from Makinak Gilbert Plains Ste. Rose Dauphin farmers and a town nine will play. Armstrong Trading Co of Winnipegosis will showcase Holstein cattle.

Eggs Sent to Winnipeg Home by Local Chapter

A letter from Miss Anderson, matron at the Convalescent Soldiers Home in Winnipeg, expresses gratitude for crates of eggs donated by Mr. B. J. Shepard and the 1.C.C.E. group. The eggs aid the recovery of returned servicemen, who pass through the home on arrival, with staff and volunteers welcoming them. Remembering 38 H Roseborough A Local Jeweler

The Herald notes the death of 38 H Roseborough once owner of a town jewelry store. A Vermilion Alberta resident, he enlisted at the start of the war and served in France where he was wounded. He died July 20 after returning to Edmonton hospital. he was brother to Mrs. W. Watson of Valley River.

Lost cattle and horses in Dauphin area report

Lost notices describe a red and white heifer, about two years old, on or about June 1 near S. W. 16 25-18. Also two seven year old colts, iron gray and bay with white hind feet and facial white. Dr Rogers Returns From Coast Trip With Harsh Northland Contrast

Dr and Mrs Rogers came home Monday after a month visiting coast towns. He praised mountain scenery but found Manitoba’s green fields absent and coast nights cold with nightly fires. On the return near Edmonton a head on collision of a freight and excursion train killed several. he was first on the scene and tended many injured passengers. Robi Byrnes, formerly of Dauphin, was the freight conductor.

War Wound Update on Isaac Johnston

Mr. Robt Jeeston reports his son Isaac Johnston, wounded in action, has both legs amputated above the knees. The hospital communication confirms the extent of injuries and ongoing recovery.

Baby Show Entries Grow Ahead of Annual Fair

As the fair nears, interest in the Baby Show rises with many entries expected across classes. Committee head Mr John A Gorby leads preparations while Dr Fraser of Brandon the provincial health board secretary plans to attend. A Winnipeg physician will help judges with health nurses Miss Russell and Miss Menagh. Prizes include 3 classes for ages 6 months to 2 years with 1st 3.00 2nd 2.00 3rd 1.00 in each class.

Manitoba motor league grows with many branches province wide

Membership in the Manitoba Motor s has grown rapidly during the past month and eight-six different points in the province have a branch representative. The Dauphin club is donating 150 toward gravelling the Brown mile. The Sutherland-Stelek Co. severed ties with Willys-Overland and will handle Chevrolet. Mr Eagle changes: Dodge and Ford depart. Maxwell, Saxon and Chalmers join.

Belgians to receive aid through local society drive

A convalescent home shipment arrived in Winnipeg on Friday the 27th. The ladies of the town prepare a bale for destitute Belgian children and seek good cast-off or new clothing. Items may be left at Mr Farrell's store before August's end. Regular meetings occur on Tuesdays Fridays with the next monthly session on Saturday August 4 at 3.9 p.m.
