A Dauphin delegation from the Town Council and Board of Trade secured a pledge from C N R to build an industrial spur at its own expense. The line will run from the main tracks near block 82 across blocks 81 to the lane and down to Main street area, with an end loading platform planned for tractors and heavy machinery. C N R also hinted at a large freight shed east of Main street, though funding and timing remain uncertain.

Automobile Club Elects Officers at Annual Dauphin Meeting
The Dauphin Automobile club held its annual town hall meeting on the 22nd with strong attendance. Officers were elected including Hon. President J L Bowman and President Ross Walker, plus a full executive committee and committee heads for Good Roads Sign Posting and Membership. The $5 membership fee includes a revised road guide and Manitoba Motor League membership with certificate.

Elliott Addresses Dauphin Social Evening

Taxes Due June First Under City Plan
Town council approved a lien to collect an installment of taxes on June first. The first payment covers the business tax local improvements and sew water frontage tax with no discount and a ten percent penalty if late. General tax school tax and municipal commissioner’s levy remain due in two equal payments Aug thirty first and Dec fifteenth. The move aims to cut borrowing and interest by collecting part of the taxes early.
New Eight Room School Proposed For Main Street Site
A recent school board meeting asks the town council to draft a by law to issue debentures around 30000 dollars for a one story eight room school building. The plan calls for the structure on the cell iate site on Main street south with eight rooms of which six are already needed by current enrollment. Debentures are expected to be floated locally.
