Construction Starts on New Buildings at Agricultural Grounds
The Dauphin Agricultural Society began work on a new horse barn on the grounds after a report by W D Strang. Additional buildings will rise as sites are set, prize changes were discussed for 1929 fair, and seed concessions granted to A E Prentice. A ploughing match at Ochre River was authorized and a Boys' Judging Team to Brandon Ploughing Match planned. The Dauphin Game Protective Association launched an intensive crow extermination campaign with two teams and a June contest for crow’s feet points.

Provincial police target licenseless cars as court actions rise
Police patrols focus on vehicles without licenses with one prosecution so far. On April 19 at Roblin Magistrate Hawkins handled liquor cases with fines from 20 to 200 dollars total. At Dauphin on April 22 Geo Whitmore and others were fined up to 50 dollars with costs for liquor infractions. On the 23rd John Seminiuk faced a home brew charge resulting in 200 dollars and costs.

United Congregations Call Rev Lochead as Pastor
The united board of St James and Grace congregations extended a call to Rev A W Lochead from Lender Ontario to the pastorate of the united church to be formed in Dauphin by month end. Lochead previously served in China and recently supplied at St Andrew's Church London. Seeding general in district by week end with farmers starting and minor fires reported.

Chief Veterinary Inspector Visits Dauphin Dairy Farms
Winnipeg based Manitoba chief veterinary inspector Dr J B Su visited Dauphin on Saturday with Dee Bishop to inspect the Cruise, Cornwall and McKillop dairies. He praised the cleanliness of the cattle barns and cattle and said Dauphin has one of the province’s best and cleanest milk supplies.
