Potato Growers Association Formed in Morden Hall

A lively meeting of potato growers at Municipal hall on Tuesday April 2k led to forming a local Potato Growers Association. Supt Straight of the Morden Expeo station spoke on cultivation and warehouse treatment. A committee will study warehouse feasibility and costs. officers elected include President Fred Forsberg, Vice President L McKay, Secretary Treasurer Chas Murray.

Charity Ball Tops Social Season for Children’s Aid Society

The social committee of the Children's Aid Society held a charity ball in a bluebird themed room with pink roses and bluebirds. Over 200 guests enjoyed the McMurray orchestra and twilight waltz with encores, and a midnight buffet. The event raised funds for the Home.

Farewell Luncheon for Dauphin Wom en Members

La Verandyre Chapter I O D B tendered a farewell luncheon in the I O O F hall Tuesday evening for two Dauphin women, Mrs G J C Walker and Mrs F Crowe, who plan to leave soon. Sutherland reviewed Chapter work, gifts included a berry spoon, mahogany tea tray, bouquets, and addresses. Music by Mrs Hawkins, Miss Marguerite Smith, and Miss Edna Walker accompanied the social event.

Education event kicks off in Dauphin with luncheon

Major C. K. will act as Colonel Ch. and inform attendees about the Combs guintenam ent of Education. The meeting begins April 29 at 6 30 pm in the Pollen block with luncheon served. Tickets available from secretary W P Wright.

A whitewear sale is planned by St Pauls Girls Auxiliary in the church basement on Saturday May 1. Proceeds benefit the auxiliary activities.

A son was born at Portage la Prairie to Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Abraham of Dauphin on April 8. The notice also lists marriages: Rankine McEwen at Dauphin on April 19 by Rev. J. A. Fair board meeting advances western horse races

R. J. Malcolm and Chas. Murray attended a Portage la Prairie gathering with Virden Carman and Portage la Prairie fair boards, Winnipeg Driving Club, and Brandon Turf Club to frame a circuit race programme. Brandon sets June 17 and Winnipeg hosts June 24 and 25, each board offering purses over $3,000 under the Canadian Trotting Association rules. Dauphin Fair Board signs with aviators and plans a band for the fair.

Co operation urged for farmer labor representation in Dauphin

Dauphin Ontario locale announces joint meetings by the Dauphin Branch of the Dominion Labor Party the United Farmers Association and labor unions to back a labor candidate. An executive was appointed April 11 to arrange an open meeting in Dauphin town hall with M L A F J Dixon addressing the topic of cooperation as the path to equal and proportionate representation in the provincial legislature. The May 18 meeting at 8 30 p m invites all, with special welcome to ladies.

Provincial government to buy timothy hay from Ontario

The provincial government has secured timothy hay from Ontario to be laid in Senat Dauphin for 4250 dollars per ton. Applications should be made to Chas. Murray.

Senior Pupils Recital in Town Hall Apr 30

Miss Pearl M. Tucker's senior pupils present a piano recital in the town hall on Friday April 30 under Lieut Stuart Widmeyer Chapter I O D E for the National War Memorial Fund. Assistants include Mrs Heaslip Mrs Grubb Mr Pook and Mr Hunter. The Mystery of the Yellow Room will be shown at the Gay Friday and Saturday.

Camp work lantern slides attract town youth

About one hundred Trail Rangers and Taxis boys met at the collegiate for a moving picture show and lantern slides on camp work. The town summer camps and baseball leagues were announced as in the process of organization for the Dauphin district.
