Flying Rock Kills 5 Year Old Boy at Flin Fion Man
Eyewitnesses recount the fatal accident at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting open pit near Flin Fion. Berkley Scarth aged five died instantly when a rock from the blast struck him on a porch after children moved to dry ground. Medical testimony cited crushed skull and brain injuries as the cause. The inquest verdict was accidental death.

Sutherland 77 Dies. Prominent Dauphin Figure
Pevid Sutherland a former Dauphin resident aged 77 died Sunday after long illness. Born in Racway Ontario he lived in Lucknow Wingham and Dauphin before moving to Macgregor in 1920s. Survived by widow two daughters and two sons with twelve grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday at United Church conducted by Rev. R Senaley. burial in Macgregor cemetery.

Dauphin General Hospital to Add New Wing at $35,000
The Dauphin General Hospital directors plan a three story brick addition costing about $35,000 to expand from 50 beds to roughly 100.
