Power Commission to Serve Dauphin and Airport Needs
Manitoba Power Commission will begin active operation in the Dauphin area within four to five months, supplying light and power. Mayor J. E. Ramsden confirmed in a Herald interview. The move follows agreements on supplying the south airport at 3 cents per kilowatt and extending provincial hydro lines to serve Grandview and Gilbert Plains.

The council discussed a power agreement to supply electricity at three cents per kilowatt hour with a town plant option. C C Taylor of Charleswood was hired as an additional constable at 115 dollars monthly beginning May 1 on a three month probation. Lions club Rose day was denied for welfare funds but free Town hall use for War Services events was granted along with footlights for Dauphin Little Theatre at about 25 dollars. By law on dogs would not change during gardening months. a continuation of current by laws was decided.

Highways Out of Dauphin Are All Passable Now
H W R Gemmel of the Provincial Good Roads reports all Dauphin area highways passable and normal, with maintenance crews active this past week. Winnipegosis route noted a washout and temporary bridge but now usable. The department explains graveling targets year round condition and avoids loose gravel.

Air Commodore A B Shearer opened No 10 Service Flying Training School near Dauphin Manitoba in a major Commonwealth Air Training Plan ceremony. More than two thousand spectators witnessed Harvard aircraft take off and aerobatics followed as crowds toured the new station and aircraft on display.
