George F. Goddard a 48 year old Canadian dairy grocer died by suicide on Friday April 5 and was buried Sunday in Riverside Cemetery with church service at his home. Survivors include his wife Eliza Slack daughter Dorothy son George and daughters Margery Ethel and Hilda. Pallbearers Reginald Shaw Dennis Shaw E R Spencer C Spencer and E Turner attended.

At the general meeting held on Saturday April 6 the Travellers Association awarded sums to several groups: Citizen's Welfare Association $75, Childrens Aid Society $75, Rural Relief $50, Boy Scouts $25, and Boys Gymnasium $25. A special committee will seek town council backing to create a park and playground with a swimming pool and equipment, with $150 set aside and potential further support.
