Death of Robert Boyd Dauphin area farmer
Robert Boyd a well known farmer living two miles west of Dauphin died Wednesday evening April 3 after a short illness from influenza. Born October 3 1874 in Gretna Green Scotland he emigrated to Canada at 15 settling near Dauphin Manitoba. He farmed on Ashville Road with sisters Sarah and Fanny and married Viola Conor of Winnipeg in 1923. Surviving are his wife two children Robert William and Eleie May a brother and sister in Scotland. He served as a trustee of Dauphin School District No 985 from 1927 until death. Funeral at St James United Church with Rev David Flemming officiating burial in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.

Community Golf Club Elects Officers for Season
The Community Golf Club held an Monday meeting electing President D. Kinney and Vice President L S Curtis, Secretary W Easterbrook, and executive committee members including Chas Murray and George Nagle. Committees were formed for Grounds and Equipment, Handicap, and Membership. A slight fee reduction for the season will be announced soon. Scrase and Watson ship hogs and cattle on Tuesday April 16.

Drive to boost League of Nations support in Canada
A nationwide appeal will be launched next week to widen interest in the League of Nations Society in Canada. The Dauphin Local Council of Women will lead the drive on Monday April 15 to urge citizens to join the world peace organization with membership as low as one dollar, which includes a year of the Interdependence publication.

Garage Sale Lets Miner Run Main Street Firm
M A Spillett sold his main street south garage to S A Miner who takes possession this week. Miner's brother A T Miner, an experienced garage man, is expected from Alberta to manage. The firm will handle Pontiac Oldsmobile and Viking autos and offer general service supplies and repairs. Mrs C S A Rogers and Mrs Wm Brierley visit Winnipeg briefly.

Social work conference closes with Dohson call for home reform
Dr. Hugh Dobson of Vancouver urged a new view of marriage and family in Grace Church sessions on social problems. He argued youth rebellion stems from elder behavior and stressed female emancipation, parity, and spiritual ties in homes amid industrial changes. The Dauphin Old Timers banquet at Town Hall featured a name change to Dauphin Pioneers Association and plans for a pioneer monument.

Pioneer Matriarch Dies After 85 Years Of Life In District
Noting the passing of Mrs. Louis Atkin on Sunday at age 85 the district honors a pioneer born in Nottingham England in 1844. She moved to the Gilbert Plains area 34 years ago with sons Horace and Harold and supported the family through floods fires and droughts while remaining active in the Methodist church. Survived by three sons Louis William of Regina Horace and Harold of Dauphin eleven grandchildren and a funeral at Grace United Church conducted by Rev. F C Middleton with pallbearers William McIntosh William Metz Chris Delia Jay Mills Arthur Pollon and Charles Snyder.
