Conservative Elmer Forbes captures a third consecutive win in Dauphin with 7,508 votes, ahead of Liberal Sigzi Sigurdson who tallies 5,374. Unofficial returns from 138 polls show a 2,134 vote lead, with Milner and Taylor trailing, and a likely deposit loss for Milner and Taylor. Final official count due Monday at 1 p.m. local time.
Ottawa CP report on the 1963 federal election shows Liberals under Lester Pearson with the largest vote share and 127 seats, Conservatives 96, Social Credit 24, and NDP 17. Prime Minister Diefenbaker may attempt to govern though his party trails in seats, cabinet ministers lost or did not run, and the parliament faces decisions at a Thursday cabinet meeting.
