Mrs Mary Antoska died at her home near Sifton on Friday April 2 at age 77 after a paralytic stroke. Born in Austria she came to Canada in 1898 with six children. Second Big Fire Destroys Winnipegosis Store
A Sunday morning blaze destroyed the old Cohen building and Levin store in Winnipegosis, two weeks after a prior fire. Ignited around 2 am by Mike Borowski and Tommy Pawlicky, the flames fueled by tinder dry conditions overwhelmed the structures, with wind sparing nearby Walter Grenon’s house. The Levin family escaped, the safe was removed, and total losses including stock and furnishings are near 8000 dollars, insured in part. The origin is under RCMP investigation.
