Civic Bodies Seek To Limit Transient Dealings In Town

An application by R. C. Kemp of Winnipeg for a transient traders license to deal in second hand cars in Dauphin was referred to the town solicitor for grounds to refuse under the by law. The Dauphin chamber of commerce urged amendments to require proper premises and staff and to impose taxes on cars brought into town.

Night School Wind-up Bridge to 1949 Achievement Day

Dauphin Readies Safety Lane Tests in August

Dauphin Chamber of Commerce announced the provincial safety lane will visit the town from August 2 to 13. Past years showed 320 to 635 cars tested. organizers expect similar or lower turnout and plan to shorten to a week due to attendance. A push for compulsory safety tests was discussed.
