Manitoba Creamery Cooperative Takes Over Crescent Plant
On the pret day of this month the Manioba Cooperative Dairies seized possession of the Crescent Creamery Co. plant. The company, formed by farmers, has grown from a Winnippeg plant in 1971 to Brandon in 1927 and now operates three units. It pays competitive cream prices and distributes profits to shippers. farmers own over 86 percent of its stock and have received more than 120000 in addition to prices, with control by a six member board and local boards at each plant. The Dauphin plant acquisition also included goodwill and retained manager Mr. Voss and staff. The Dauphin Local Board lists Dr McDonald as President and includes BF Boughen, A J M Poole, D J Hill, Paul Johnston, W J Perepeluk, Alex Kux, Joseph Effier, Alf Scrimshaw, with Gordon W. Tovell as Secretary.

The Dauphin Agricultural Society adjourned to review committee reports for the July 11 to 13 fair. G R Watson reported on the 1939 Western Canada Fairs Association convention. The midway contract was awarded to Royal American Shows and platform attractions to Bart Taylor for 1256 dollars. A Sports and Attractions Committee recommended 1100 dollars for horse racing and 150 dollars for a football tournament. A grounds project would add new buildings with Robt McAllister hired as foreman to complete work by July 1, and Len Silum was granted a one year lease on the grounds.

Deaths in Dauphin Hospital and Manitoba burial details
Mrs Roy Hamilton’s father Robert Munn died in Winnipeg on March 28 and was buried at Portage la Prairie after funeral attendance by Mrs Hamilton who returned Tuesday. In Dauphin General Hospital two deaths occurred on Tuesday David Ross 51 a Swan River farmer died from bowel complications and Frederick McLaren 16 son of Mr and Mrs W McLaren Russell died from cerebral hemorrhage after being found unconscious on a Grandview farm and transported to Dauphin. Interments followed in Swan River and Russell respectively with parents accompanying the Russell train.

Winnipegosis still case ends with fine and jail term
