Grand Vizir Lodges in Belgrade Demands Citadel

News from Vienna reports the Grand Vizir taking residence in Belgrade and offering seven million Florins for the Citadel in its current state. General Schulenburg remains appointed as commander of the fortifications while demolition has not yet begun. The citadel famed for its rock-cut magazines is described as the finest fortification seen and bomb-proof.

Whale of 64 Foot Sighting in Sunderland Trade Notice

Newcastle Sept 22 a master found a 64 foot whale near Steaths on the Yorkshire coast. Its body described in detail from eye to tail with five foot fins and a 35 foot mouth. The whale sold for oil parts to Sunderland traders. ships and firings suffered losses and teas were seized. Races at Tewkesbury began with a Grey Mare Smiling Molly winning 20l purse. Chesnut Mare won 10l purse.

Dunkirk Harbor and French Squadron Arrive in Baltic

London reports from Dunkirk that a French squadron and the frigate have reached the Baltic by the 24th instant with all pilots aboard. The Marquise d Antin was expected daily. The Beach Court appears not to show that Dunkirk harbour should be filled under the Utrecht treaty.
