Navy Orders and Local Dispatches From Deptford and London

Yesterday a Navy order sent to Deptford for a watch to be ready for sailing and Admiral Stewart to command the convoy. Norwich Man of War recently arrived from the West Indies to be repaired and fitted for service. Navy contracted for 10 000 quarters of wheat to be delivered in four months for royal service. Coffee at the Indian House sold at four shillings per pound. Last week Rev. Hugh Pugh died at Bisling Kent. Barry Woolstapler died in Bermondsey Street, reputed worth 12 000, aged 52. Richard West, master of the Boye Eating House, died aged around 30. Two gangs planted in the road near Calais for want of beer. A War Galley overset in London Bridge, one sailor drowned, others saved. Coroner sat on the wife of a brigadier who was killed by her husband at Newington Surrey.
