Privateers Protect Trade off Virginia Coast and New Arms Issued

London dispatch from Biddeford reports two privateers fitted for trade protection the Royal Ranger commanded by Capt Thomas Goodman of Barnstaple with 22 guns and 76 men and the Friendly Society commanded by Capt Thomas Tucker with 18 guns and 470 men convoying Capt Pearl 30 leagues off shore to ward off Spanish privateers. The arms delivery to three guard regiments proceeds, and Excise appoints Wingfield as principal examiner.
