Coasting Vessel captures mutinous boat crew in Wexford harbor

From Wexford comes word of a coasting vessel between Arklow and the port detaining eight men from a counterfeit fining boat. The captain used an oar to subdue the boat commander, crew with handspikes secured the others, the boat’s men cried for quarter and were taken aboard the coaster and brought to Wexford. Also noted: Col George Robinson died at his Marlborough Street home. a Manooth woman poisoned a child over a lover’s quarrel, sought and captured two days later.

Traitor Roger Freeman in Newgate for High Seas Plunder

Bristol reports Roger Freeman, a member of the Carmen Privateer of St Sebastian, committed to Newgate for traitorous actions against the Crown. He boarded and plundered the Swallow of this port, aided in taking the prize, and confessed to two further London prizes brought in by the Carmen. Freeman stole a silver watch from Capt Blake's second mate and is described as an Irish papist who traveled under a Spaniard's guise.
