Swarm of Irish Thieves Ravages West Scotland

Edinburgh reports a large influx of thieves from Ireland causing widespread mischief in the West Country. A man was killed in Old Monkland and another badly wounded. Over 20 thieves were captured in a wood, with a gang near Kilsyth including three women, one dropping a false key to avoid detection and another found with two loaded pistols under her Petticoats.
