Executions Carried Out at Gloucester for Robbery and Burglary

Yesterday four malefactors were executed in Gloucester. Abraham Wood and John Wood, Gypsies, robbed Henry Lovel of 40s in silver and 16d in halfpence at the Seven Downs. John Willes broke into the houses of Matthew Davis and William Ellery and stole items including a silver tankard. John Gibbs broke open two horses near Bristol, claiming the goods were found in a hedge between Bristol and Bathgate. Gibbs, about 66, was born in Glamorgan and known among local smiths and weavers.
