Sicilian Rebels Fall as Genoese Drive Offensive

Milan dispatch reports General Vela leading 800 Genoese and Imperial auxiliaries from Bastia on 11th to seize Capuchins St. Francis and St. Joseph ports. Rebels dislodged within an hour, four brass cannons, powder, and ball left behind. About 900 rebels killed, 50 captured including Father Bernardin de Cozacco. German troops then secured Cardo, Fiorano fell after 7000 Rebels faced 2000 men, with lone Lieut. Graferi killed in combat. Emperor’s council, Salisbourg talks, 500,000 florins arrived for the Emperor’s treasury. Further notes on court, alliances, and various European postings.
