Heathcote mayor announces on October 12 1742 in King George II’s reign that Charles Jones marshal must inform ward constables to enforce a double watch for the Lord Mayor’s Day procession. They must clear streets passable and keep harm free, ban carts and carriages, and remove offenders to the Greenyard.

Richarb Cuanouer, a bookseller, gives notice at a Parliament meeting that he will publish the four remaining volumes to complete his edition of The History Proceedings and Debates of the House of Commons from 1734 to the end of the last Parliament.
