Mediation visit of Count de Lautrec to Geneva described

Letters from Geneva recount Count de Lautrec arriving with a French retinue, being met by Geneva magistrates, burghers, Zurich and Bern envoys, and arranging mediation to end city troubles. It notes his age about fifty, prior service in Italy, and favorable reception by Geneva authorities and burghers who plan a memorial of grievances. The report also covers a Paris fire at the Chamber of Accounts, dampened Corsica expedition prospects, and various London society items.
