Gloucestershire Labourers Hailed For Highway Work Plan

From Chipping Campden the chief inhabitants of that town have agreed to hire all unemployed Labourers to repair Highways. They will be paid eight pence per day, with a penny extra for small beer, paid nightly. Nearly twenty men are currently employed, a laudable pattern for other places during dearth and scarcity.
