Fleet sails for Turkey and distant seas

Letters from yesterday report the English fleet set for Turkey and the Levant under convoy of the Larx and St Allan’s men of war, reaching Port Mahon on November 2 O S. Snips left Portsmouth on September 138 with Commodore Anion bound for the Great South Seas. The Clement under Capt. Kittfer, from Newfoundland to Pool, was captured by a Spanish privateer and carried to St Sebastian’s. The Mary’s Reign, Capt. Jervoise, from Barbadoes to London, lost her rudder. the captain and crew left, one man remained aboard and with Minehead and Ifordcome pilots secured safe entry to King Road near Bristol. Yesterday five malefactors named earlier were executed at Tyburn. White and Tlascock have received reprieve. William Dowell, for a rape in Acton, was taken to Surgeons’ Hall for dissection, revived, then sent to Newgate. One of the women is said to have recovered.
