Reports from Belgrade speak of a Turkish retaliation over a minor engagement. The Grand Signor contemplates war. a campaign plan may open with a siege of Widdin. The Archduchess's picture is returned to the Emperor. Letters from various capitals describe peace negotiations with Persia, slave freedom orders, and naval commands.
