Tragic End Of Count de Hoym Reported From Dresden

Abstract of a four letter from Dresden dated the 27th Instant describes Count de Hoym formerly Prime Minister to August II of Poland ending his life in Konigstein. He hanged himself in his chamber using a handkerchief tied to a wall hook after leaving a note to the domestics. The note urged prudence and revealed a planned death to avoid scandal. The king ordered private burial and showed compassion. Earlier, Hoym had attempted suicide at Lichtenwalde when seized for imprisonment.
