University revokes Unigenitus appeal in Paris assembly

Paris May 18 reports the University of Paris debated revoking the 1718 Unigenitus appeal. A large majority supported revocation, opposing the Jesuit work and commending King’s aims for peace, while 82 senior members opposed the move and petitioned Parliament. Port News from Deal reports ships remaining in harbor then sailing including the King of Portugal, Hughes for Lisbon, and ships for Havre. Paris Letter Details University Appeal Crisis and Exile

May 25 Extra of a Letter from Paris reports the Affair of revoking the University Appeal to the Constitution. Abbe Pucelle presents a petition to Parliament to lodge an appeal, opposing the University record. the exile of M. Gilbert is ordered, and the King’s Council issues Arrets suspending acts and setting a three month term for retaliation.

London Lands Leases Put Up For Vine Street Property Lots

The Committee for Letting the City's Lands gives notice via the Chamberlain that several Vine Street properties in the Minories area will be leased in multiple plots. Proposals will be received at the Guildhall Chamber's Council on May 30 after a prior viewing at the Comptroller's Office, with an additional sale by lease of a Sea-Coal Meeter position on June 29.
