Hound Man of War Captures French Ship at Newport-Prat

From Newport-Prat in Con naught news arrives that the Hound Man of War on cruise intercepted a French ship from Martinico laden with 300 Tons of Sugar and other goods and brought her into the port. Last week Mr Elliot surveyor of Evragh and Mr Robert Dillon surveyor of Dingle seized 36 begiegts of brandy and a bale of finery goods from a smuggler bound from Nantes to the place. The seizure condemnd his ship. He has long been a notorious runner, Captain Luke Mercer of the Berborough Gailey captured three years ago on the same account.

Tide of Flood Brings King William's Prize to the Key

On Thursday evening at Siren Point the King William's Prize was brought up the Road to the key, escorted by many boats. An English ensign flew at the mizen peak as the French flag fell. Crowds along the shore from Hotwell to the Key hailed the event during Bellifie.

London dispatches detail Sir Charles Hardy’s arrival at Portsmouth with thirteen sail of warships after guiding merchant ships to Lisbon.
