Extraordinary Tartars and Coffacks March Across Icebound Plain

In a letter from Petersburg dated March 11, a report details a Tartar and Coffack force of 80,000 horses marching 400 English miles over an ice bound desolate plain with no forage. After forty days reconnoitering near Ruffian lands they retreat as horses die. The feat is likened to historic marches of Tamerlane. A chief of a herd of Coffacks named Krafna is described.
