Review dispute ends with officers resigning commissions
In Sicily and Naples, regiments argued that morning reviews by common inspectors violated their rights to review only before sovereign or their own officers. After debate, the court advised patience, and many officers resolved to return to Spain if grievances were not addressed. A courier was sent to Madrid to report the incident to the King.
