In Edinburgh this week the Lady of William Hay of Drumelzier died aged. She was sister to Lord Blantyre and mourned. On Tuesday Margaret Stuart was convicted by the High Court of Justiciary for the barbarous murder of her child with shocking circumstances and received the death sentence to be hanged at Grass Market on May 4.
Durham reports detail a brutal murder committed by Robert Wilkinson against Landlady Mrs Foster after luring a servant girl away. He restrained the girl with a handkerchief, bound and killed Mrs Foster, then tried to hide evidence. A rescuer broke in, Wilkinson was captured, and neighbours found severe injuries and bloodied items. Also notes on Hilton Castle being left in roads and a ship wreck with crew saved.
