A large eighteenth century advertisement touts John Moore apothecary at the Pestle and Mortar in Lawrence-Pountney Lane offering a complete cure for cholick and digestive troubles. It promotes two anti-scorbutic medicines and a purge, detailing dramatic, sweeping health claims and cures for scurvy symptoms, with testimonials of patients and other notices about crime, stock prices, and public offices interspersed in the same column.
