Colour Blessing Of Duke Chartres Regiment In Bayonne

A Bayonne dispatch details the Duke Chartres Regiment receiving its new colours in the cathedral blessed by the bishop with the chapter present and Maj. Gen. Dadancourt. The event included a sermon on the Duke of Orleans, a Te Denm anthem, a royal artillery salute, and a banquet attended by Prince Emanuel of Portugal.

Fragmentary OCR describes a mare named Red Lion dun at Barnaby tre a A Beautiful Bay. Six years old fourteen hands three inches. Marked by a De et Vall after a pack of dogs and investigations for the road. Sale indicated but details garbled.
