In Gravesend June 15 ships entries show the Carteret and Friend sailing to Virginia while the Shippen bound for Amsterdam remains at the downs with the privateer Southwell under Captain Wingfield on a cruise. The Eliza and Catherine from Norway and the Patience from Gottenbourg are noted ashore at Gravesend.

War Office orders four regiments to embark for Flanders

A London note details a War Office order for four regiments of Foot and two of Horse to sail for Flanders on expedition. It also reports the cargo brought home by Commodore Anson, including 2,600,000 pieces of eight, 150,000 ounces of plate, gold and silver dust summing to 1,250,000 pounds sterling, plus various other items.
