Mayor Perry reports a Common Council decision at the Guildhall in London May 28 1739. Any person nominated for Sheriff in Middlesex who pays the required sums by May 23 next at six in the evening shall be exempt from sheriff eligibility forever unless they later serve as an Alderman, then they become liable for sheriff as if the order never existed.
