Madrid to Mr Keene Seeks Clarification of Treaties

PORT NEWS: Outward-bound ships sail as others fail to clear

Deal and Fune 2 depart in Downs with the Eagle Cathcart and the Dutch ship for Talta Tri da. All other outward-bound vessels failed to clear this morning. The Mary Gally and Cornilt head for Lisbon Straits, while several ships pass by Gravesend including the Gainers Supply and St Antonio. The Mary Dickenson arrives at Margate Road from Bermuda.

Admiralty appoints ships to commission and officers named

Yesterday a Bosra’ of Admiralty decided to place ships into commission. The Deal Castle and the Shoreham received Capt. Thompson Wet and Capt. Boscawen respectively, plus the Alderney Sloop under Capt. Jamies Scott. Nath becomes lieutenant of the Shoreham and Broderick as lieutenant of the Alderney. Baron Valmonte and his Lady arrived from Hanover and were received graciously by the King at Kensington.
