In Bristol City two sudden deaths are reported. Alderman Beecher, senior city official, died after a lingering illness at his seat near Stapleton. On Monday night the Rev Mr Weston, son of the late Paul Weston, a merchant and grocer, died in St Nicholas Church after a fit of apoplexy during sermon delivery. He was carried to the Vestry and bled, with hopes of recovery fading in coming days. Weston was respected by parishioners of St Peter’s where he served as curate. Earlier, John Partington, about 19, the private sentinel mentioned previously, was shot.
