Suit Over Luxembourg Estate Crimes and Costs
In Paris on July 19 a suit between the Duke of Luxembourg as plaintiff and the Count de Creuilly as defendant over an estate valued at 45,000 Livres yearly proceeded in Parliament. The court ruled against the Count, awarding costs, damages, and interest. Nuns of Compiegne presented the King with a grand confection resembling the forest of Compiegne in miniature, a token of thanks for the palace.
