Protest by Montijo on Austrian Homage at Linz in 1743

From Francfort July 8 includes Count de Montijo's protest on the Austrian homage to the Queen of Hungary at Linz. The dispatch criticizes Hungarian claims, questions hereditary right, and cites 1689 crown acknowledgments. Also notes Saxe divisions, Bavarian war actions, and reports of a pending peace treaty between the Emperor and Queen of Hungary.

Edinburgh Commission appoints two clerks to the Court of Session

A commission dated yesterday in Scotland names Hugh Forbes Advocate and Thomas Gibson King’s Clerk as clerks to the Court of Session in the rooms of the late Sir John Dalrymple Bart.
